Guidelines for Long Term Care Insurance
Insurability
If you are in excellent or very good health and under 80 years old, then you can Click Here Now to fill out the Contact form. If you have any health issues, please read on.
Now, if your house is burning no company will sell you homeowner's insurance, right? The same idea applies to Long Term Care insurance ( LTCi ). If you are over 80 years of age or have certain pre-existing health conditions, it will be difficult, extremely expensive or impossible to obtain LTC insurance.
Below are some pre-existing conditions that Long Term Care insurance companies/underwriters frown upon. If you have any of them, it is more than unlikely that you will be accepted for any NEW long term care insurance policy, whether or not you have an existing policy. Keep this in mind if you are trying to replace a current policy.
Please do not bother filling out the form if you are experiencing any of the following pre-existing conditions:
1) Require assistance with any Activities of Daily Living (ADLs)
- Transferring - Getting in and out of a bed or chair or car.
- Continence - Letting go of your bladder or bowels without assistance, holding your bowels or using urinary continence assistance such as catheters.
- Feeding - Needing help getting food or drink up to or into your mouth, cutting your food.
- Dressing - Needing assistance putting on your clothes.
- Toileting - Needing assistance to get onto and off of the toilet, wiping, washing up.
- Bathing - Getting into and out of a shower or bathtub, needing help washing hair and/or body, drying oneself.
2) Use of a wheelchair, oxygen, walker, crutches or multi-pronged cane.
3) Daily care: assisted living or nursing home, adult day care or home health care.
4) Incidental care: Needing help using a telephone, doing your banking or grocery shopping, or using transportation.

Other Considerations:
* It is very, very difficult, not to mention fraudulent, to try to "fool" Long Term Care insurance companies. If you are over 45 years of age, your medical records will likely be required. If you are over 50, add a phone interview. If you are over 70 years old be ready for a face-to-face interview.
* Every LTC insurance company has different underwriting parameters, which can vary from state to state depending upon each state's laws.
* There may be a waiting period if you have had a stroke, heart attack or substance abuse within the last 2 or 3 years.
* There may also be waiting periods of various lengths if you have had certain surgeries recently. It depends upon the company, your recovery and state laws.
* Smoking or being overweight can affect the pricing of or ability to get LTC insurance. Don't wait to get your LTCi quotes, but you may want to lose weight or stop smoking in order to reduce your future costs.
Now, if none of the above health issues apply to you, then Click Here Now to fill out the Long Term Care insurance Contact Form. You will be contacted as quickly as possible for assistance and price quoting comparisons.
